Our Medical Team
Robert Foor, MD, FAAP
Dr. Foor completed his internship at Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, NY, and his pediatric residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He is the founder of Carolina Kids and is certified by the American Board of Pediatrics. Dr. Foor is an assistant clinical professor of pediatrics for the University of North Carolina Medical School. Dr. Foor is married and has three daughters, one who is a police officer, two who are full-time college students, and one son, who is active in the Air Force Reserves while attending college. He enjoys hunting, fishing and raising exotic birds.


Jeff Tanaka, MD, FAAP
Dr. Tanaka completed his pediatric residency at Martin Luther King/Charles R. Drew Medical Center in Los Angeles, where he was honored with an award for outstanding patient care. Dr. Tanaka is an assistant clinical professor of pediatrics for the University of North Carolina Medical School. He moved to North Carolina in 1990, and spent his first three years in Mooresville before joining Carolina Kids in 1993. Dr. Tanaka is married and has one middle-school aged son. He and his son have just received their Black Belts in Tae Kwon Do. Dr. Tanaka enjoys traveling, golf, and church activities.



Leanna Willey, MD, FAAP
Dr. Willey completed her pediatric residency at the University of Rochester. She served as Chief Resident of Pediatric Ambulatory Services. Dr. Willey is an assistant clinical professor of pediatrics for the University of North Carolina Medical School. She is married with a son and two daughters. Besides being active in her church, she enjoys reading, walking and cooking.



Christian Nechyba, MD, FAAP
Dr. Nechyba graduated as valedictorian from the University of Florida College of Medicine, and completed his pediatric residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. He also served as chief resident in pediatrics at Johns Hopkins and edited the #1 best-selling international handbook on pediatric patient care (the Harriet Lane Handbook). Dr. Nechyba is an assistant clinical professor of pediatrics for the University of North Carolina Medical School. He is married with two young sons, and is active in the March of Dimes. He enjoys teaching, jogging, cooking, and spending time with his wife and boys.



Jennifer Slagle
Jennifer Slagle, PA-C
Jennifer Slagle received her undergraduate degree in French Studies from Appalachian State University.  She spent 5 months working at Mwandi Christian Mission Hospital in Zambia, Africa. Upon her return she began and received her Masters of Medical Science in PA Studies from East Carolina University.  Jennifer is a member of the American Association of Physician Assistant's, the Triangle Area PA's and the Christian Medical and Dental Association. She enjoys spending time with her husband James, reading, traveling, staying fit, watching the Red Sox and cooking. We welcome her as our newest provider beginning July, 2008.
